The first Pepe was a toad. In 1988, he appeared on Carlitos Balá’s Argentine children’s show: a green toad in a red shirt and yellow suspenders, charming living rooms long before anyone drew an internet frog. A fandom wiki even claims this toad was “based on” the frog created in 2005, as if history could run backward. The truth is simple: every other “first Pepe” came second. TOAD is the original legend, reborn as a community coin on Solana.
