Kio (Kiongozi - Swahili for “leader”) is a real lion cub from the Maasai Mara whose entire life has been captured on camera. On August 4, National Geographic dropped the announcement: the trailer for their new series LION (“Rise of a King”) lands August 6. They followed this one male cub for four full years, from a vulnerable two-week-old all the way to reigning king.
